Wheels up mid-afternoon. Bright sun, big feelings, zero retakes on the corsage. Two jobs tonight: find shade and nail the eyes. Everything else is in here.

The Trap
Product Showcase
Your camera is secretly set up to film someone holding a lipstick at the lens. Symptoms:
▸ Try Face Priority → "This operation or setting is not available"
What it's doing: locking Face/Eye Priority in AF to Off and focusing on the closest object. That's how you get a razor-sharp boutonniere and a blurry kid.

Intelligent Auto: the green camera icon. The camera does the math.
Want the dreamy blurry background? Hit the Background Defocus button on top.

Aperture priority (A). Set the f-number as low as it goes. ISO on Auto.
Low f-number = more background blur. You're welcome.

Kit zoom? Zoom all the way in (50mm) and take a few steps back.
More flattering faces, blurrier background. Your feet are the other zoom.

Half-press the shutter and watch for the eye box. Box on eye? Fire.
Burst it
Set drive mode to continuous. Take short bursts, so at least one frame has nobody mid-blink.

Beat the sun
Afternoon sun is harsh. Two moves:
☞ Use open shade.
☞ Or put the sun behind them.
Avoid dappled light through trees (leopard-spot faces). Rule: nobody squints.
Herding groups
☞ Step back.
☞ Keep everyone's faces about the same distance from the camera.
☞ Take extras. Someone is always blinking.
